DIY WEDDING RINGS!

We finally booked Studio 925 for a wedding ring class! Studio 925 is located somewhere in Malingap, QC. They share a space with Soul Flower, Co. , a leathercrafting studio. We really wanted to document this whole thing so we went with a friend who agreed to photograph us throughout the entire process! <3  We were 15 minutes early so we grabbed lunch first. When we entered the studio, we were welcomed by familiar faces; Mai of Fake Alchemy and Kris of Thingamabobs Art Jewelry, the head metalsmiths of Studio 925, are actually fellow crafters who also sell their products in the same art fairs we go to! "Ikaw pala 'yan, ikakasal ka na pala!", they laughed as Kris, our teacher for the day, lead us to the room we'd be using. We chose sterling silver (from what I can recall from the class, it's 92% silver and 8% copper, copper is what makes the material sturdier) with a flat band style. Also for cheese, we decided to make each other's ring. So he did m

When I learned about Kitchie Nadal's P799 wedding dress, I obviously got curious. I searched her photos online and fell in love immediately. MY KIND OF BRIDE, I thought to myself. She was youthful, she was happy, and she was stunning. SHE was glowing, not the beads, not the ribbons and laces, not the complex train. From that moment, I knew I was gonna get a simple white dress. I never really liked gowns after all. I never had a clear vision of what my "wedding gown" would look like. Thanks to Ate Kitchie, one of my heroines from high school, I learned that I actually don't need one. :) Now watch me lose 50 lbs in one year.

He didn't propose.

There wasn't an engagement ring. There wasn't a secret mob that came out of nowhere to surprise me. No one held "will you marry me?" signboards. None of that. Earlier this year, we decided to live together. And when you live together, you talk. You talk a lot. Especially during at night before sleeping. You talk about other people, you talk about movies you want to see, you talk about work, you talk about plants, you talk about money, until you run out of things to talk about. And then, you have THE talk. After 10 years, we sat down  lied down and FINALLY did it. "I'm just not used to being the center of attention, I don't want that 'all eyes on me' feeling, I hate it", says my introvert fiance (eeeeeeek!) The audacity. I told him not to worry about that because he can trust my Capricorn ass it won't happen. If there's gonna be a center of attention, best believe it's gonna be my Capricorn ass. And then we talked about having

This is crazy!

I'm (we're?) getting hitched. I decided to create this blog because somehow, I feel like it can help me calm down. As of December 28, 2019, 6:29pm, I am overwhelmed. Last night, I stayed up until 2am looking at weddings held in the Philippines. I can't help but laugh at how tacky 600k -1M weddings can look like. I clearly know what I want. And it's even clearer what I DON'T want. My keywords are; intimate, laidback, authentic. I want a simple garden wedding, with one venue for the ceremony and reception. I want 70 guests; immediate family and closest friends only. I want to be able to interact with everyone as much as possible. This is something my fiance (eeeeeeek!) and I agreed on. Fortunately, I learned Excel just a month ago. I quickly made a list of all things to consider with an estimate budget for each bullet. For a very small occasion in my head, I almost puked on how big we have to spend. Tacky rich people: "who's laughing now?". Anywa
